We offer a range of hybrid solutions to meet your power needs; from small microgrid in a box to grid scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). The small-scale product (HES Mini) was designed to supply critical power to remote telecommunications stations whilst the HES Mega product can provide frequency and voltage stability to electricity grids as they become less stable due to high penetration of renewable generation. The HES Mega is grid forming with smart controls which enable 100% renewable generation.

The HES Mini consists of an engine/battery combination with the option to supplement with wind or solar energy. The engine powers the load and charges the battery. When the battery is charged, the engine shuts down. When the battery discharges to a predetermined level, the engine restarts.

Batteries?

The Lithium Ion Battery is ideally used within a mobile power source and energy storage device. Key features include:

The battery has a self-discharging rate of approx 3% and under normal conditions the battery can be recharged once every six months.

The battery's cathode active material comprises of a mixture of fluorine compound and rare earth while the anode active material contains nanometer carbon fiber and artificial graphite. Therefore, in the large current charge it can maintain the characteristics of invariable inherent molecular structure, sold crystal lattice, impact resistance and long life.

DC
Generators?

Utilising a DC generator at its core, the HYbrid Energy Station (HES) provides a highly efficient means of charging a battery and storing energy eliminating the need to oversize the generator for battery charging applications.

  • Most BTS operate at 48 volts DC
  • By powering the BTS at 48 volts DC you can remove the site rectifiers
  • This eliminates a large source of heat within the site cabin
  • Thus reducing cooling demand and energy usage
  • Generator will not overload when charging batteries
  • Therefore the engine size can be matched to load size
  • Improves efficiency by 40%
  • Electric radiator offers even higher efficiency

The core element within a fuel efficient HYbrid system is a 32 pole permanent magnet generator.

The unique design offers:

  • Extremely high reliability (MTBF at 100,000 hours)
